Vocabulary

Coach

A passenger carrying car, usually with a center aisle and two rows of twin seats.

 

Common Carrier

One who holds himself out to the general public to transport property and passengers, intrastate, interstate or in foreign commerce, for compensation.

 

Depot

Synonymous with railroad station.

 

Station

A place designated in the timetable by name.

 

Terminal

A railroad facility used for handling of passengers or freight and the receiving, classifying, assembling, and dispatching of trains.

Timetable

A published schedule of the movement of trains.
